| Being a avid reader, and loving history, I grew up with the "left overs" of many of my fathers clients who would bring an "old" chair or table to be fixed, only to be told by my father...too old...not worth fixing- Let's make something new. I loved the old, then, and I love antiques now. They are a window into what daily life in our past was like, what the taste of our ancestors was, what fashion was then and now. Antiques not only add patina to our lives, they all have a story within their history...for us to imagine and weave in our mind. A tale, which can be ours alone, written and re-written as the mood strikes us. |
